President

Maria Riggio

My name is Maria Riggio.  I am a graduate of St. John Villa Academy. I also attended The Wood Secretarial School where I received a certificate in Secretarial Science.

My work experience is six years in Merrill Lynch.  In the six years I was promoted in Merrill Lynch to the Real Estate Department.  I decided to go back to school and received my Real Estate license from the College of Staten Island.  My husband and I also have an optical business that we have been running in the city for the past 20 years now.

I have three daughters, Danielle is a graduate of Villa in 2005 and now attends the College of Staten Island, Lauren is a freshman in Villa, and Natalie is in the third grade in Villa Elementary School.

I am also a volunteer in the Villa Involvement for Parents (VIP) in the Elementary School and the Mother's Club in the High School.  I have been on the Executive board for the Home School Association for two years as a delegate.

Vice President – Elementary School

Leah D’Angelo

My name is Leah D’Angelo. I currently serve on the Home School Association as Vice President of the Elementary School, a position that I have held for the past three years. Previous to this position, I served as an Alternate Delegate, representing Villa in the Federation of Catholic Schools. I have also served on the Board of Trustees of my Elementary School, St. Agnes Seminary, in Brooklyn.

I have two children in the school – Gabriella in Grade 4 and AJ in Grade 3, and I recently gave birth to Vanessa. I have volunteered as class mother for both of my children and I was instrumental in starting the first Brownie Troop at Villa, serving as Troop Leader from September 2004 – June 2006.

I graduated New York University with a B.S. in Accounting and began my career in Accounting as an Auditor for Arthur Andersen & Co. I have worked for The Rockefeller Brothers Fund, a private foundation in Manhattan, for the past 15 years, in various positions, which have included Assistant Treasurer and Assistant Comptroller. I was recently promoted to the position of Comptroller of the Fund, a part-time position, which thankfully allows me to juggle both my career and the time necessary to dedicate to my children.
